From marine engineering to global partnerships and a new approach to natural farming, SG SERV connects technology, people and nature to create value that lasts.

About the Founder
After beginning his career as an engineer in Japan, the founder moved to Singapore and spent more than 20 years working in the marine engine repair industry.
Following his experience as Director of a joint venture company, he established an independent marine repair workshop in Singapore in 2014.
In 2020, he further expanded operations by establishing an additional workshop in Indonesia. Both operations continue to run successfully today.
Through many years in the industrial repair sector, he gradually began questioning the modern “scrap-and-build” mindset that prioritizes replacement over long-term maintenance and sustainability.
Having spent much of his career repairing and extending the life of machinery, he developed a strong belief in preserving value through maintenance, restoration, and long-term thinking rather than short-term consumption.
After returning to Japan, this philosophy naturally expanded beyond engineering into agriculture and daily life, leading him to begin practicing natural farming .
Today, while managing overseas operations remotely from Japan, he continues exploring how sustainable business, technology, and agriculture can coexist in a more balanced and long-lasting way.

We Believe in Repair, Not Replacement.
We value the idea of repairing and maintaining things for long-term use, rather than simply replacing them when they fail.
For us, repair is more than a business.
It is about:
-
Preserving technical knowledge
-
Reducing unnecessary waste
-
Thinking in long-term cycles rather than short-term convenience
Natural farming follows the same philosophy.
Rather than exhausting the soil for mass production, it works with natural cycles and focuses on maintaining healthy land over generations.
Marine engineering and farming may appear unrelated, but both share a common principle:

Natural Farming

in Japan, we are practicing small-scale natural farming.
Without relying heavily on pesticides or chemical fertilizers, we observe natural cycles and grow crops in harmony with the seasons.
Currently, we cultivate approximately 200 tsubo (about 660 square meters) of farmland, producing:
-
Soybeans
-
Taro
-
Sweet Potatoes
-
Persimmons
-
Our goal is not large-scale industrial agriculture, but rather:
Small, sustainable farming rooted in the local community.
Three Fields. One Philosophy.

2
Global Support
Connecting Japanese technology with the world. We coordinate overseas service, technical attendance, local partners and customer communication — grounded in practical experience on both sides of the operation.
3
Natural Farming — New Initiative
Learning from nature. Growing with nature. We are exploring natural farming as a long-term initiative — learning from natural cycles and considering how people, industry and nature can coexist sustainably.

Condition Assessment for Piston Rings and Cylinder Liners
Regular condition assessment of piston rings and cylinder liners is essential for maintaining engine performance and preventing costly damage. Here’s an overview of what’s involved and why it’s important:

01
Piston rings
Piston rings seal the combustion chamber, regulate oil consumption, and transfer heat from the piston to the cylinder wall
02
Piston Skirt Copper Ring
The copper ring provides a low-friction surface that reduces the likelihood of scuffing between the piston skirt and the cylinder liner. This helps in smooth piston movement and reduces wear.

03
Piston Combustion Surface
The piston combustion surface, also known as the piston crown or piston top, is a critical component in the internal combustion engine. It is the part of the piston that directly interacts with the combustion process within the cylinder.
04
Cylinder Liners
Cylinder liners provide a wear-resistant surface for the piston rings to move against and help dissipate heat from the combustion process.
